My next book: ‘The Wilderlands’

I’m happy to announce that my next book will be an adult fantasy novel titled The Wilderlands! I’m planning to release the paperback and ebook editions on Oct. 29, 2024.

I think this this book represents the first piece of writing I’ll have published since college where I can flex some of the writing skills I developed during and since college.

The Wilderlands, 2024. Cover art by Sabrina Claman. Cover design by White Stone Pages.

Inspired by orally conveyed myths such as Beowolf, Grimms’ Fairy Tales, and Greek mythology, The Wilderlands is a standalone book that glares at a fantastical world where green and growing things run rampant. There are those who live in the handful of cities that have shut out the wild places of the world—those people are known as Valforians.

Then there are the Wilderfolk, doomed to roam the overgrown places of the world. Among them is Knalc, a name who deals death and sorrow as much as he swallows it. Those dealings are complicated when, during a raid, he finds himself able to lay claim to a mysterious man draped all in red, a silent boy with no voice or name, and a girl hungry for revenge against Knalc.

Tragedy strikes and the four of them are set loose into the Wilderlands where they must learn to survive the horrors of the world and each other.

Between now and the book’s planned October release, I’m hoping to post a lot more on here. Like I did with The Unspoken Prophecy, I want to break down the cost and process of publication—though probably across multiple posts this time. I’m also hoping to talk a little bit about my creative process while writing this book.

To keep up to date on that, come back to this website or scroll to the bottom of this page and sign up for e-mail updates to have these posts delivered directly to your inbox.

For those of you who use Kindles, the ebook is already up for pre-order now here! Pre-orders for physical copies and other ebook formats will be up for pre-order as well in the coming weeks and months.
