It looks like Mark Zuckerberg stole my books.
According to a recent report from The Atlantic — ‘The Unbelievable Scale of AI’s Pirated-Books Problem’ by Alex Reisner — about 7.5 million books have been stolen by Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, owned by Mark Zuckerberg.
Making of Part 2: The importance of critique
Near the start of the year I spoke to a class about writing and self-publishing. After the class was letting out, one of the students came up to me and asked something I’d never asked or considered asking. To paraphrase, the question was: “Has any criticism you’ve gotten influenced what you put in your book?”
What comes next?
t’s the end of 2024 and, as tends to happen at the end of every year, I’m left reflecting on and considering the future and the question of “What comes next?”

Despite a rather rough November in many regards, this year has managed to be a modestly good year for me personally. Principle among the things I have been thankful for is the support I’ve gotten from friends and family for The Wilderlands as well as the long lasting help of the people who helped make it.
